3 mistakes that stop you from bringing your vision to life

When I first started my business back in 2012, I had no idea what I was doing. I just knew that I wanted to work from home and not have to pay for child care. I knew what I was good at and how I could help but I wasn’t clear on anything other than that. I just jumped in feet first and rolled with the punches…

I didn’t know it at the time, but I was made a few big mistakes that could have eliminated some of those punches… Some of these are probably tripping you up, too.

If you’re struggling to bring your vision to life, check to see if you’re making these 3 mistakes:

1) Not being 100% clear on your vision

When you don’t have a vision of where your business is going, it won’t go anywhere. Dive deep into your WHY; Why did you start your business in the first place? PS. it has to be deeper than money… Think about what you want to accomplish in 2-5 years… 10 years…⠀

If you’re not crystal clear on your WHY, it doesn’t matter how much money you have. You won’t be able to grow your business to the next level. Have a clear vision of where you want to take your business and why.

2) Looking at your ideal client all wrong

Focusing on their age, location or other details such as kids and relationship status are ONLY important if it is relevant to the services you provide. Understanding their emotions and their pain points are key for converting them into clients…

The best way to get to know your ideal is by understanding the transformation they desire. What are their challenges and struggles? What are the emotions they’re experiencing? The more you ask about these emotions, the better you can understand what they need to feel relief.

3) Skipping out on finding inspiration

In order to design a brand that you love, you need to what you are drawn to. Reflect on the 3-5 words and colors that come to mind when thinking of your personal style. Consider what resonates with you as an individual and then translate that into the design of your logo, website design, etc.

Choose words and colors that convey the attitude and style of your brand and the way you want your ideal client to feel when he/she experiences your business for the first time…
